Cole Anthony signs with Melbourne United for 2026‑27 NBL season

NBA veteran point guard Cole Anthony, 26, has signed a one‑year contract to join Melbourne United for the 2026‑27 National Basketball League (NBL) season in Australia. The former first‑round pick of the Orlando Magic (2020) and recent Milwaukee Bucks player will serve as United’s starting point guard under new head coach Jacob Chance.

Anthony, who has played 367 NBA games and averaged 12 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists, said, “I’m super excited to begin this journey with Melbourne United. This is a great opportunity to continue growing as a player and compete for a championship. I’m ready to get to work and can’t wait to represent the club and meet the fans.”

Coach Chance praised the signing, noting, “We wanted an elite guard with the ability to lead our offense, make his teammates better and be a great person off the court. Cole Anthony checks every one of those boxes.” The move reunites Anthony with former teammate Joe Ingles, who also returned to United after a 12‑year NBA career. The signing is described as one of the most significant acquisitions in recent NBL history and is expected to boost United’s championship aspirations.
