Colecciones UH to release Universo Mafalda publication

Colecciones UH is launching ‘Universo Mafalda’, a new publication dedicated to the world of the iconic character created by Argentine graphic humorist Quino. Available starting Sunday, August 30, as an optional purchase through the newspaper Última Hora, the book is priced at G. 85,000.

Spanning over 250 pages, the book is not a simple collection of comic strips but rather an exploration of the ideas, characters, and era that inspired the work. It features illustrations accompanied by photographs of Quino, self-portraits, historical facts, timelines, and letters. The content covers Mafalda’s family, her neighborhood, and her unique perspective on global issues such as injustice and inequality.

The publication also includes testimonials from cultural figures like Julio Cortázar, Gabriel García Márquez, and Umberto Eco, the latter of whom described Mafalda as ‘a heroine of our time’.
