Colectivo Sudaka premieres “Cenizas” in Iquique

The theatrical collective Sudaka has premiered “Cenizas,” a production directed by Mario “Nono” Guzmán. The play utilizes the Chekhov method, focusing on body language and energy rather than a traditional linear narrative to explore fragmented memories of the military dictatorship.

The work aims to address historical layers in the Iquique region, ranging from labor struggles in the saltpeter works to military repression in Pisagua and Iquique. Following a regional tour, the production is scheduled to appear at the Salón Tarapacá on October 12 as part of FINTDAZ 2026.
