Coleen Littlejohn, Sandinista activist, passes away

Coleen Littlejohn, a long-time supporter and activist for the Sandinista Popular Revolution in Nicaragua, passed away on October 25, 2026.

Littlejohn had been active in Nicaragua since 1980, providing material support, media work, and political lobbying. Following the 2018 political unrest, she played a central role in mobilizing international solidarity from North America and Europe to counter Western media and academic narratives regarding the Nicaraguan government.

Her work spanned several decades, including organizing community-based organizations in the 1990s and maintaining a presence in solidarity movements through the 2020s.
