Colegas e o herdeiro film premieres in Brazil and Uruguay

The film ‘Colegas e o herdeiro’, directed by Marcelo Galvão, is set to premiere on August 13 across more than 250 cinemas in Brazil. A sequel to the 2012 award-winning film ‘Colegas’, the new production follows a group of young people from an institute for children and youth with Down syndrome on a journey to Uruguay.

The plot involves a clandestine trip to Punta del Este to visit a friend involved in a hotel inheritance dispute, which turns into an adventure involving gemstone smugglers. The production emphasizes inclusivity, featuring 70 actors with various disabilities, including Down syndrome, autism, and Williams syndrome.

To celebrate the release, Cinemark will host a ‘Sessão Azul’ on August 15, a special screening designed for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) featuring reduced sound and soft lighting. The film is a collaboration between H2O Films, Gatacine, and Globo Filmes.
