Colegio de Contadores de La Libertad auditorium closed due to collapse risk

The auditorium of the Colegio de Contadores de La Libertad has been closed due to a high risk of structural collapse. Despite an investment of over one million soles in early 2022, the facility is facing a critical situation only four years after its inauguration.

A technical report by civil engineer Olson Avellaneda Vargas, an expert from the Ministry of Housing, Construction, and Sanitation, confirmed the deterioration. Following a second inspection in August, specialists discovered active corrosion in the lightweight TR4 roofing sheets and a loss of section in the beams and profiles supporting the roof.

The report indicates that poor sealing allowed rainwater to enter the structure, causing continuous corrosion and the falling of ceiling tiles. Experts concluded that the auditorium does not meet safety conditions for occupants and recommended immediate suspension of activities.
