Colegio de Médicos supports salary claims and warns of healthcare precariousness

The Colegio de Médicos de la Provincia de Buenos Aires has expressed support for medical professionals facing labor and financial instability. The organization highlighted the struggles of medical residents, who are demanding salary recompositions and improved working conditions to match the rising cost of living. The entity noted that medical training cannot be sustained on wages that fail to guarantee dignified living conditions, emphasizing that residents are essential to the daily operation of public hospitals.

Additionally, the Colegio raised alarms regarding the precarious labor situation of providers working with PAMI, the national social security agency for retirees and pensioners. Medical practitioners and dentists serving PAMI affiliates report that current fees and per capita payments are insufficient to cover rising operational costs, such as rent, supplies, and administrative staff. The institution warned that this lack of adequate compensation risks the continuity of medical services and threatens the quality of care available to elderly patients.
