Colegio Inglés Católico wins Lion Cup school football championship

Colegio Inglés Católico de La Serena has been crowned champion of the Lion Cup after a 1-0 victory against debutant Colegio Nuestra Señora de Andacollo (Maristas). The winning goal was scored by Martín Ramírez in the final minute of the match.

The tournament concluded three months of school football competition involving various educational communities in the region. The final standings saw The International School secure third place after a 3-0 win against Sagrados Corazones.

Founded in 2017 by physical education teacher Sebastián Barraza, the Lion Cup aims to expand competitive opportunities for high school students. The tournament currently utilizes three venues: Colegio Inglés Católico, The International School La Serena, and Scuola Italiana. This edition consisted of 38 matches played on Fridays.
