Coleção Ingá exhibition showcases Brazilian cultural plurality

The exhibition ‘Coleção Ingá: Brasil plural’ is currently on display at the Centro Cultural Justiça Federal in Rio de Janeiro. The showcase features approximately 200 works selected from the collection of the Museu do Ingá, located in Niterói.

The exhibition highlights the cultural plurality of Brazil through various themes, including faith and daily life. The displayed items include artifacts from indigenous peoples, records from traveling artists, modern experiments, and expressions of popular culture. The collection spans several formats, such as paintings, sculptures, and engravings from the 19th and 20th centuries.

Curator Marcus Lontra noted that the exhibition aims to reveal the diverse ways to interpret Brazil by showcasing significant names in Brazilian modern art, including Cícero Dias, Di Cavalcanti, Portinari, Caribé, and Oswaldo Goeldi.
