Colgate defeats Holy Cross 35-10 in college football
Colgate University defeated Holy Cross 35-10 in a college football matchup at Andy Kerr Stadium. The victory improves Colgate's season record to 2-0.
Colgate quarterback Jake Stearney led the offense with 278 passing yards and four touchdowns. Sophomore wide receiver Matt Fogler was a primary target, recording six catches for 153 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Danny Shaban contributed 98 rushing yards and a touchdown. The Raiders' defense secured the win by pitching a second-half shutout and recording three interceptions.
Holy Cross quarterback David Lynch completed 19 of 35 passes for 264 yards. Receiver Ty Curran led the Crusaders with 130 receiving yards on seven catches, while running back Joseph Williams scored a touchdown on the ground. Despite a second-quarter touchdown that narrowed the gap to 21-10, Holy Cross was unable to score in the second half.
