Colgate defeats New Hampshire 1-0 in men's soccer opener
Colgate University secured a 1-0 victory over the University of New Hampshire in their men's soccer season opener at Beyer-Small '76 Field in Hamilton, New York. Cole Ramey scored the decisive goal in the 68th minute after controlling a pass from Otto Bourne.
Colgate goalkeeper Christian Kellogg earned a shutout in his first collegiate start, recording eight saves to prevent UNH from equalizing. Despite being outshot 18-9 and trailing 8-1 in corner kicks, Colgate maintained the lead through the final minutes of the match.
With this win, Colgate begins the season 1-0, while New Hampshire moves to 0-1. Colgate is scheduled to play Vermont next, while New Hampshire will face Syracuse on Sunday.
