Colgate-Palmolive and SNS celebrate National Brushing Day in Dominican Republic
Colgate-Palmolive has partnered with several Dominican institutions to commemorate National Brushing Day through educational and brushing activities in schools and communities across the Dominican Republic. The initiative is part of Oral Health Month and aims to raise awareness regarding dental caries prevention and the importance of establishing healthy hygiene habits from an early age.
The program is a collaborative effort involving the National Health Service (SNS) Dentistry Directorate, the National Institute for Early Childhood Comprehensive Care (INAIPI), and the Dominican College of Dentists (CDO). These activities align with official commemorations established by the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance via Resolution 0012-2024.
A key component of the initiative is the “Bright Smiles, Bright Futures” program, which has operated in the Dominican Republic for over 50 years. The program focuses on teaching primary school students and children in early childhood centers the importance of brushing after meals and before sleep to promote long-term oral health within their families.
