Colgate-Palmolive shifts focus to high-margin niches in Strategy 2030

Colgate-Palmolive is implementing its ‘Strategy 2030’, which shifts the company’s focus from broad sales volume toward high-margin niche markets. The plan utilizes a disciplined allocation framework targeting 20 to 30 specific combinations of product categories and countries expected to yield the highest returns on capital.

The company maintains a dominant position in oral care, notably holding a market share of over 50 percent in the oral care segment in Latin America. Recent financial results reflect this strategic direction, with net sales increasing 4.9 percent to 5.36 billion US dollars in the second quarter ending June 30. Earnings per share of 0.99 US dollars slightly exceeded market expectations of 0.98 US dollars.

Analysts from Bernstein SocGen Group highlighted the company’s leadership in oral care across international segments, while UBS maintained a buy recommendation with a price target of 109.00 US dollars, citing the disciplined execution of the new strategy.
