Colégio da Gandarinha celebrates 105th anniversary

The Fundação Condessa de Penha Longa is organizing a program to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the Colégio da Gandarinha. The event includes a thanksgiving mass at the Matriz Church in Cucujães, a pilgrimage to the cemetery to lay a wreath at the tomb of the Countess of Penha Longa, and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.

The celebration will feature a discussion titled ‘The responsibility of a legacy,’ moderated by journalist Fátima Campos Ferreira, and the presentation of the Condessa de Penha Longa Prize to pedagogue, writer, and poet Maria do Rosário Moita Macedo. Attendees will include government officials, such as the Secretary of State for Social Action and Inclusion, Clara Marques Mendes, and the Deputy Secretary of State for Youth and Equality, Carla Rodrigues.
