ColibriTD raises €4 million for quantum simulation software
Paris-based quantum software startup ColibriTD has raised €4 million in a seed funding round led by Earlybird Venture Capital. The round included participation from SymbiaVC and Medin VC, following a previous €1 million pre-seed investment.
Founded in 2019 by Laurent Guiraud and Hacène Goudjil, the company focuses on developing industrial simulation software rather than quantum hardware. The funding will support the research and development of its proprietary H-DES (Hybrid Differential Equation Solver) algorithm, which combines quantum and classical computing to solve complex differential equations. These simulations are applicable to fluid dynamics, material deformation, and financial risk modeling.
ColibriTD’s platform is hardware-agnostic, meaning it can operate across various quantum processors and services, including those from IBM, AWS Braket, IQM, IonQ, and Quobly. The company has already completed seven co-construction projects across sectors such as defense, aerospace, automotive engineering, and nuclear energy, with partners including Thales, the European Space Agency, and BMW.
