Mexican federal and state authorities have arrested Oswaldo Rafael Muñoz Domínguez, known as ‘El Baldo’, a suspected regional operator for the Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG). The operation was a coordinated effort involving the Secretaría de Marina (Semar), the Fiscalía General de la República (FGR), and local security forces in Colima.
Muñoz Domínguez is identified as a high-priority target linked to systematic extortion of livestock producers in the Cuauhtémoc municipality. He is also under investigation for his alleged involvement in several violent crimes, including an armed attack against an agent of the State Prosecutor's Office in September 2025 and the murders of a former mayor in Colima and a livestock association president.
The arrest was described by authorities as a controlled operation conducted through strategic intelligence without the use of lethal force. The detained individual has been placed at the disposal of the Federal Public Ministry to determine his legal status.
