Colima government advances gender equality and STEAM education initiatives
The government of Colima is advancing initiatives focused on gender equality and educational development. During the 18th ordinary session of the State System for Equality between Women and Men, officials reviewed progress in providing women with access to security, justice, health, and economic development.
Key economic results include support for 33 productive projects, benefiting 61 people, of whom 59% were women. Additionally, 466 individuals participated in 28 self-employment training courses, with a 99% female participation rate. The Colima Women's Institute also introduced the 'Mujeres que Transforman' informative gazette to strengthen dialogue between institutions and civil society.
In the educational sector, the state held the STEAM Fair ‘Aprender, crear y transformar’ as part of the National English Program (Proni). The event encouraged sixth-grade primary students to develop projects integrating science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. From this fair, two students will be selected to represent Colima at the national STEAM Fair stage.
