Colima government implements various social and educational programs
The government of Colima, led by Governor Indira Vizcaíno Silva, has launched several initiatives focused on education, health, and social welfare.
In education, the State Institute for Adult Education (IEEA) signed an agreement with the Instituto Tecomense de Estudios Superiores (ITESBJ) to combat educational lag through literacy, primary, and secondary services. Additionally, the ColiBecas program distributed 2,286 free computers to students in Tecomán to ensure economic status does not hinder academic progress.
In the health sector, the state is providing free services to promote the prevention and early detection of breast cancer. These services, including Pap smears and medical consultations, are being offered through community outreach programs in locations such as La Albarrada and Manzanillo.
Other social initiatives include the announcement of free concerts and amusement park access for families during the 2026 Feria de Todos los Santos, as well as the selection of the jury for the 2026 State Sports Award.
