Colima launches housing program for state police officers
Governor Indira Vizcaíno Silva has introduced a special housing program titled ‘Colima es casa de nuestros Héroes’ to support state police officers in Colima, Mexico. The initiative aims to address the fact that only one in four police officers currently owns their own home.
Developed in coordination with the Colima State Pension Institute (Ipecol), the State Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSPC), and other local agencies, the program offers credits of up to 680,000 pesos. These loans feature a fixed annual interest rate of 4%, require no down payment, and allow for repayment terms of up to twenty years.
In the initial stage, approximately 250 officers are expected to benefit from the program. Eligible properties will be located in Colima, Villa de Álvarez, Tecomán, and Manzanillo. The application period is open until October 30.
