Colima man arrested for harassment on public transport

A man was detained in Colima, Mexico, after being caught harassing and exposing himself to a minor on a public transport bus. The driver of the vehicle identified the behavior, stopped the bus, and immediately activated emergency protocols by calling 911.

Blanca Ballesteros Uribe, the Undersecretary of Mobility for the Government of Colima, stated that the suspect was identified by authorities and the case has been referred to the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Gender Issues for investigation. The minor involved received psychological care, specialized accompaniment, and first aid following an anxiety crisis.

This incident marks the third case of harassment reported on public transport in Colima this year, including one instance in a collective transport unit and two in taxis. Officials noted that transport operators undergo annual training to identify and respond to violence or harassment to ensure passenger safety.
