Colin Donnell is set to return to the NBC medical drama ‘Chicago Med’ for two episodes in Season 12. Donnell, who played Dr. Connor Rhodes, originally departed the series at the start of Season 5 in 2019 following a dramatic storyline involving his father’s death.

His return is scheduled to begin with the Season 12 fall finale on Wednesday, December 9. In this episode, Dr. Rhodes will return to Gaffney Chicago Medical Center at the request of Sharon Goodwin to assist with a complicated and risky surgery for a young heart patient. Showrunner Allen MacDonald expressed excitement regarding the return, noting that bringing the character back to Gaffney has been a priority.
