Colin Farrell Returns as John Sugar for Season 2 on Apple TV+

Colin Farrell reprises his role as private detective John Sugar in the second season of the Apple TV+ neo‑noir series "Sugar". The eight‑episode season, now streaming weekly, continues the premise that Sugar is an alien living in Los Angeles and uses the revelation to explore themes of humanity, immigration and moral responsibility.

The new installment introduces several fresh faces—including Sasha Calle, Laura Donnelly, Shea Whigham and Tony Dalton—while retaining the show's atmospheric Los Angeles backdrop and classic Corvette rides. Director Fernando Meirelles and the expanded cast aim for a more confident, emotionally driven tone, balancing the series' noir style with the science‑fiction twist introduced in the first season.

Farrell, who has lived in Los Angeles for 25 years, discussed the series' focus on belonging and the immigrant experience in an interview, noting his personal connection to the city and the show's exploration of what it means to be human despite being an outsider.
