Colin Ingram announces retirement from professional cricket

South African cricketer Colin Ingram has announced his retirement from professional cricket at the age of 41. The left-handed batsman will conclude his playing career at the end of the current season after more than two decades in the sport.

Ingram’s international career with the Proteas included 31 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and nine T20Is. He notably became the first South African to score a century on ODI debut, striking 124 against Zimbabwe in 2010. His domestic and franchise career included significant stints with the Warriors, Cape Cobras, and appearances in the IPL, Big Bash League, and Pakistan Super League.

He also enjoyed a long tenure with Glamorgan, where he scored 31 centuries and captained the T20 side. Following his retirement, Ingram will transition into a coaching role at Glamorgan to assist in player development.
