Colin Mann dies in custody after murder charge in Leeds

Colin Mann, 52, was charged with the murder of 58‑year‑old Tracy Davenport after her body was found on 24 July in Cottingley Towers, Leeds. While awaiting further court appearances, Mann died in custody at HMP Leeds on 31 July after being taken to hospital. The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman has opened an investigation into the death, which police are treating as unexplained. West Yorkshire Police confirmed the death was reported at 4:48 am on 31 July. Mann had been due to appear in court again on 27 August.

The investigation will assess the circumstances of the death, and authorities have said they will respond to the Ombudsman's findings in due course.
