Colla Jove Xiquets de Tarragona launches Agustí Forné Awards

The Colla Jove Xiquets de Tarragona has announced the inaugural Agustí Forné Awards for Casteller Communication. These annual awards aim to recognize individuals and professionals who contribute to the dissemination, promotion, and entertainment of casteller culture and values.

The awards will be presented during a public gala on Saturday, October 17, at the Seminari Tarraconense. There is no monetary prize associated with the honors. The awards are divided into three distinct categories: information and dissemination, promotion, and entertainment.

Candidates may include professionals, amateurs, casteller groups, media outlets, academic institutions, broadcasting platforms, podcasts, or social media profiles. A jury composed of five national communication professionals will select the recipients. The awards are named in honor of Agustí Forné, a long-time casteller chronicler and television broadcaster who played a key role in popularizing the tradition through his work with Televisió de Catalunya.
