Collado Villalba to host Madrileños Centenarios exhibition

The exhibition ‘Madrileños Centenarios. La Sabiduría de la Longevidad’ (Centenarians of Madrid: The Wisdom of Longevity) will be hosted at the Casa de Cultura in Collado Villalba from August 27 to September 17.

This traveling exhibition features photographs and testimonies from centenarians living in the Community of Madrid, which is home to approximately 2,500 of Spain’s nearly 20,000 centenarians. The collection aims to provide a space for citizens to reflect on the legacies of these individuals, who were born in the early 20th century.

The exhibition highlights how these individuals lived through significant historical shifts, including the Spanish Civil War, the post-war period, and the transition to democracy. It also documents the social, technological, and scientific advancements that have transformed daily life and the urban landscape of Madrid.
