Collahuasi awarded Chile's top mining safety prize

Compañía Minera Doña Inés de Collahuasi has been awarded the John T. Ryan Prize, a distinction granted by the National Mining Society (Sonami) and Sernageomin to mining operations with the industry's best safety indicators.

In 2025, the company recorded zero lost-time accidents across more than 30 million man-hours, involving both direct employees and contractors. This achievement resulted in a Frequency Index of 0, marking the best safety performance in the company's 22-year history.

The operation is located in the Tarapacá Region at an altitude of over 4,600 meters above sea level, where approximately 7,000 people work. Sonami President Jorge Riesco Valdivieso noted that the recognition reflects a solid preventive culture and rigorous management in a high-altitude, large-scale environment.
