Colle di Val d’Elsa hosts Via Francigena community events

The Via Francigena initiative, titled ‘V.I.A. – Vivere, Incontrare, Assaporare’, will hold events in Colle di Val d’Elsa on Saturday, October 17. The program focuses on engaging new generations and using the historic route as a tool for social inclusion, education, and territorial development.

The morning session, ‘Francigena Kids – Giocare la Via’, features educational and playful activities for primary school children at Porta Nova. This includes historical challenges and group activities supported by youth ambassadors from the ‘Ask Me Colle’ project of the San Giovanni Bosco Institute.

In the afternoon, the ‘Storie in cammino’ forum will take place at the Teatro del Popolo. The forum will discuss best practices and projects such as ‘Scuola sulla Via’, ‘Colle Explorer’, and ‘Colle accoglie i pellegrini’, highlighting how the pilgrimage route can generate opportunities through innovation and community participation.
