Colle Oppio playground launches Sport Illumina project in Rome

The Sport Illumina project has officially launched at Colle Oppio in Rome, transforming a previously degraded area into a community hub for sport, culture, and art. The initiative, led by Sport e Salute, aims to revitalize public spaces and engage young people through various activities including basketball, taekwondo, and skateboarding.

During the presentation of the docufilm ‘Lo Sport è Vita’ at the Rome Film Festival, former swimmer Filippo Magnini praised the playground's unique setting overlooking the Colosseum. Mario Pozzi, representing the Ministry for Sport and Youth, noted that the Colle Oppio model serves as a blueprint for a national program that has already funded one hundred similar playgrounds across Italy to foster community building.
