Collebeato: 12-year-old in critical condition after bus accident

A 12-year-old boy remains in critical condition at the Papa Giovanni XXIII Hospital in Bergamo after being struck by a bus in Collebeato, Brescia. The incident occurred on Sunday, September 20, around 6:00 PM in a residential area.

Preliminary investigations suggest the boy was playing when a ball rolled into the street; he reportedly ran into the roadway to retrieve it just as a transit bus was approaching. The driver attempted to brake and steer left, but the impact was unavoidable, causing a deep crack in the bus windshield. The boy was stabilized on-site by emergency services and transported via helicopter to intensive care in reserved prognosis.
