College basketball recruiting and roster updates

In college basketball recruiting, five-star point guard Reese Alston, ranked as the No. 9 national recruit and the top player in Texas, is nearing a decision regarding his college future. Despite an official visit to Kentucky, reports indicate Alston is likely deciding between LSU and Louisville.

In roster developments, Cincinnati has added forward Amani Lyles to its 2026-27 roster. Lyles, a former Akron Zips player, earned an additional year of eligibility following an executive order from Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 14.9 points and 7.9 rebounds per game last season and was a standout performer in the MAC, leading the conference in player efficiency rating.
