College basketball season begins with UCF and Nebraska matchups

The 2026-27 college basketball season features several key matchups, including UCF opening its campaign at home against FGCU on November 2. The UCF Knights roster features 11 newcomers and four returners, including Dior Johnson, who previously averaged 24.0 points per game at Tarleton State. Coach Dawkins, who recently signed a contract extension through 2028-29, leads a team that previously earned an AP Top 25 ranking.

In Nebraska, the Huskers are scheduled to face Le Moyne at Pinnacle Bank Arena on November 2. The game will not be televised but will be available via B1G+. Nebraska is looking to integrate new players into the rotation following the departures of Sam Hoiberg, Jamarques Lawrence, and Rienk Mast.
