College football coaches face scrutiny amid coaching carousel rumors

The college football coaching landscape is seeing increased scrutiny regarding several high-profile programs. At Florida State, head coach Mike Norvell is facing pressure following reports that former players are lobbying officials to consider Jimbo Fisher as a replacement. Norvell’s job security may depend on the team's performance during a difficult upcoming schedule involving matchups against Virginia, Louisville, and Miami.

Other coaches gaining momentum in the coaching carousel include Jason Eck of New Mexico, who is considered a top candidate for Group of 6 positions following a strong start to the season. Jake Dickert of Wake Forest and Tim Polasek of North Dakota State are also being highlighted as rising candidates due to their recent successes. Additionally, Maryland head coach Mike Locksley has been mentioned on coaching hot seat lists.
