College football: ECU and ETSU secure victories

In college football action, East Carolina University defeated Rice 28-12 in their American Conference opener. Running back T. J. Engleman Jr. led the Pirates with 136 rushing yards on 14 carries, including two 43-yard runs. The victory brings East Carolina to a 3-2 record.

East Tennessee State University also secured a victory, defeating The Citadel 34-16. Despite an early 10-0 deficit, the Buccaneers rallied with touchdowns from their offense, defense, and special teams. TJ Peyton contributed 110 rushing yards and a touchdown, including an 85-yard scoring run that helped seal the win for the 5-2 ranked team.
