College football players receive weekly conference honors

Several college football players received weekly conference honors following significant victories. BYU quarterback Bear Bachmeier was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, a Davey O’Brien Great 8 selection, and a Manning Award Stars of the Week honoree. His recognition follows a performance against Iowa State where he recorded 329 passing yards and two touchdowns, alongside 109 rushing yards.

In the SEC, Oklahoma players Peyton Bowen and Tate Sandell earned weekly honors after the Sooners' 27-24 victory over No. 1 Texas. Bowen was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week following a 42-yard interception return for a touchdown, while Sandell was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week after kicking a game-winning 47-yard field goal as time expired.
