College football programs omitted from preseason Coaches Poll

Following the release of the preseason USA Today Coaches Poll for the 2026 college football season, several prominent programs were omitted from the Top 25 despite receiving votes.

Notable teams overlooked for the rankings include the Florida Gators, who are entering a new era under head coach Jon Sumrall with a revamped offense, and the TCU Horned Frogs, who feature a strengthened secondary and a new quarterback. Other programs positioned to potentially climb the rankings include Louisville, supported by running back Isaac Brown and transfer quarterback Lincoln Kienholz; Arizona, led by returning quarterback Noah Fifita; Virginia, which returns much of its recent successful roster; and Illinois, featuring new quarterback Katin Houser.
