College soccer matches end in 2-2 draws for East Carolina and Memphis
In recent collegiate soccer action, both East Carolina and Memphis men's teams played to 2-2 draws in their respective non-conference and neutral matchups.
East Carolina concluded its non-conference schedule with a 2-2 draw against VCU at Bill Clark Homes Field at Johnson Stadium. The Pirates held a 2-0 lead late in the game following goals from AJ Mayock and Lily Ridge, but VCU mounted a late rally to secure the draw. East Carolina will begin American Conference play next week against Tulsa.
The University of Memphis men's soccer team recorded its first draw of the season, finishing 2-2 against Furman at Stone Stadium. Memphis took a 2-1 lead after goals from Henrique Cruz and Dino Stavros, but Furman equalized via a penalty kick converted by Diego Hernandez with only 10 seconds remaining in the match. Memphis enters conference play with a 4-1-1 record.
