College Swimming League season begins with 12 top teams

The College Swimming League (CSL) is set to begin its season, featuring 12 of the nation's premier collegiate programs, including Alabama, Auburn, Cal, Georgia, Indiana, Louisville, Michigan, NC State, Ohio State, Stanford, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Virginia's men's and women's teams are scheduled to compete in Match 2 on Friday, September 25, against Alabama, Georgia, and NC State. The season is structured around six regular-season matches and two post-season matches. In the regular season, each match includes four teams, with points awarded to the top four finishers (4, 3, 2, and 1 point respectively) to create a combined institutional score.

The competition utilizes a dual-gender format where men's and women's points accumulate toward a single team score. Rosters are limited to 28 swimmers, consisting of 14 males and 14 females. Athletes can enter up to three individual events and two relay events, though 'Skins' elimination-style races do not count toward these limits.
