College volleyball teams conclude tournament play

Saint Leo University and St. John's University concluded their respective volleyball tournament participations on Saturday.

At the Flagler Saints Invitational, Saint Leo University secured a five-set victory against Lees-McRae with scores of 26-24, 27-25, 24-26, 23-25, and 15-10. Gina Stavile led the Lions with 15 kills, while freshman Reagan Lyerla recorded 14 kills and 17 digs. However, the Lions subsequently lost to Valdosta State in four sets, leaving them with a 2-5 season record.

In the Lou Carnesecca Invitational, St. John's University suffered a 3-1 loss to East Texas A&M. Despite recording 82 digs and 56 kills, the Red Storm fell with set scores of 22-25, 20-25, 25-23, and 22-25. Rashanny Solano Smith set a career high with 35 digs, and both Solano Smith and Lejla Hadziredzepovic were named to the tournament's All-Tournament Team.
