College volleyball teams open 2026 season with mixed results

The 2026 college volleyball season has commenced with varying results for Idaho and Binghamton during their respective invitational tournaments.

Idaho finished the Mizzou Invitational in Columbia, Missouri, with a 2-1 record. The Vandals began their campaign with a comeback victory against Towson, overcoming a two-set deficit to win the match. Following a loss to the tournament host, Missouri, Idaho secured a victory against Western Illinois to conclude the weekend.

Binghamton opened its season at the Rocket Invitational in Toledo with a winless 0-3 record. The Bearcats suffered straight-set losses against Bradley University and Oakland University on Friday. They concluded the tournament on Saturday with a three-set loss to the host, Toledo.
