College women's soccer teams head into Sunday road matches

College women's soccer teams Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) and South Carolina State are scheduled for road matches this Sunday.

MTSU (2-0-1) will conclude a three-match road trip by traveling to Carrollton, Georgia, to face the University of West Georgia. The Blue Raiders have maintained a defensive record of zero goals conceded through their first three matches of the season. Sophomore defender Scottie Newton was recently named CUSA Defender of the Week.

South Carolina State (0-2-0) will travel to Macon, Georgia, to play Mercer at Betts Stadium. The Lady Bulldogs are seeking their first win and first goal of the season following losses to Southern Utah and Elon. Goalie Jada Gittings is expected to lead the defense for South Carolina State.
