Colleges navigate traditions during homecoming season

Aquinas College held its 2026 Homecoming Weekend, featuring the 18th annual Peter M. Wege Golf Outing. The event, a collaboration between Aquinas Athletics and the Advancement Office, was redesigned to integrate with the homecoming festivities to foster community connection and provide direct support for current students.

In a separate context, Bishop's University is navigating challenges regarding its homecoming tradition in Lennoxville. Following an incident on Reed Street during the previous year's celebrations, there are concerns regarding the impact of unregulated crowds and vandalism on the local community. Discussions have emerged regarding the need for students to act as stewards of the tradition to preserve its spirit of connection while managing its growth as a regional attraction.
