Collegiate athletics: Concordia Texas and Menlo College suffer losses

In recent collegiate athletic matchups, Concordia University Texas women's soccer and Menlo College women's volleyball both faced defeats during California road trips.

Concordia University Texas women's soccer lost 2–1 to Whittier College. After falling behind 1–0 in the 22nd minute, the Tornados increased their offensive pressure in the second half. Cecilia Escobar scored in the 72nd minute to narrow the deficit, but Whittier secured the win with a second goal in the 70th minute. Goalkeeper Emma Guillen recorded five saves during the match.

Menlo College women's volleyball fell in two matches during the Orange County Classic. The Oaks lost 3-0 to Biola University in both contests. Despite strong performances from Fuka Kikuchi, who recorded 17 kills, and Michelle Mlikan, who contributed 28 digs, Menlo was unable to overcome momentum shifts in the sets.
