Collegiate athletics updates: Illinois State and Nebraska prepare for upcoming competitions

Various collegiate athletic programs are preparing for upcoming competitions and reviewing recent tournament results.

Illinois State University volleyball is scheduled to host its first two Missouri Valley Conference matches at CEFCU Arena. The Redbirds will face Northern Iowa on Thursday and Drake on Friday. Illinois State enters the matches following wins against UIC and Valparaiso.

The Nebraska swimming and diving team is set to host the Iowa State Cyclones at the Devaney Natatorium on October 2. This follows a successful intrasquad meet where senior Beatrix Tanko and junior Aurora Zanin led the Scarlet squad to a victory.

In golf, Illinois State finished 13th at the Badger Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin. Junior Max Faucquez led the Redbirds with a tournament score of 1-over-par, tying for 23rd place individually. Southern Miss won the tournament with a score of 841.
