Collegiate field hockey: Johnson & Wales and Rhode Island College secure wins

In recent collegiate field hockey matchups in Rhode Island, Johnson & Wales University and Rhode Island College secured narrow victories.

Johnson & Wales University defeated Plymouth State University 2-1 in overtime. Despite Plymouth State freshman Hannah Bub making a career-high 15 saves and Georgia Coleman scoring a late equalizer to tie the game at 1-1, the Wildcats converted a penalty stroke at the end of the third quarter and eventually scored on a counterattack in overtime.

Rhode Island College earned a 2-1 victory against Lesley University. After Lesley took an early lead in the second half, Sarah Pimentel tied the game for the Anchorwomen. Talia Cost later scored the decisive goal in the 67th minute to secure the win for Rhode Island College.
