Collegiate golf teams begin fall season at New York Harbor Cup

Collegiate golf teams, including Purdue and Nebraska, are beginning their 2026 fall seasons at the New York Harbor Cup. Hosted by Rutgers, the tournament takes place from August 31 to September 1 at the Bayonne Golf Club in New Jersey.

The nine-team field features several Big Ten programs, such as Michigan State and Purdue, alongside competitors from Kansas, West Virginia, Little Rock, Marquette, and South Florida. Purdue enters the event following a 23rd-place finish at the previous NCAA Championships, though they will compete without senior Sam Easterbrook, who is scheduled to participate in the Walker Cup in Ireland.

Nebraska is led by junior Jackson Bengele, who recently recorded a 13th-place finish at the Big Ten Championship. The Huskers' lineup also features sophomore Caden Mickelson, who holds a freshman record stroke average for the program.
