Collegiate runners earn weekly conference honors

Several collegiate distance runners have received weekly conference honors for their recent performances in cross country competitions.

In the Southeastern Conference (SEC), Texas runner Aidan Torres was named Men's Runner of the Week after winning the 8K at the Texas A&M Invitational with a time of 23:53.1. Freshman Kai McCullough also earned his second consecutive SEC Men's Freshman of the Week honor. Torres, a former USATF U20 champion, also received the USTFCCCA NCAA Division I Men's National Athlete of the Week distinction.

In the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), Norfolk State freshman Clinton Kipruto was named Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second consecutive week. Kipruto secured the individual title at the Virginia Invitational, winning the 6,000-meter race in 17:39.0. This victory marks his second win in two collegiate starts.
