Several collegiate soccer matchups are scheduled for Thursday, August 20. The Mercyhurst men's soccer team will open its season against Penn State at Jeffrey Field in University Park, Pennsylvania.

Led by head coach Austin Solomon, the Mercyhurst Lakers are entering the third year of their transition to Division I. Key returning players include Benjamin Buckley, Santiago Giraldo, and Alvar Silva.

In women's soccer, the University of Detroit Mercy is set to host Toledo at Titan Field. The Detroit Mercy Titans are coming off a 1-0 home-opening victory against Eastern Michigan, highlighted by a game-winning goal from Emma Henry and a shutout performance by goalkeeper Eva Hill.
