Collegiate soccer results: University of Mary wins, Southwestern falls

In collegiate soccer action, the University of Mary women's team secured their first win of the season with a 3-0 victory over MSU Billings. Dina Polanco scored two goals late in the first half, including a header from 12 yards out, followed by a strike into the upper right corner just 150 seconds later. Alex Guinn added a third goal in the 79th minute to finalize the score. Freshman goalkeeper Elena Van Heukelom recorded a clean sheet with five saves.

In men's soccer, Southwestern University fell 3-1 to East Texas Baptist University. Although Southwestern managed an equalizer before halftime via a Cooper Pero header, East Texas Baptist scored twice in the second half, including a goal from a 30-yard shot and a late penalty kick. Southwestern recorded 11 shots during the match but finished with a 1-1 overall record.
