Niagara women's soccer defeats Quinnipiac 3-2

The Quinnipiac University women's soccer team lost its Metro Conference opener at home to the Niagara Purple Eagles with a final score of 3-2. This result marks the Bobcats' first regular-season home loss since 2023 and their first defeat against Niagara since 2016.

Quinnipiac established an early 2-0 lead in the first half, fueled by two penalty kick goals from graduate student forward Morgan Cupo. Cupo's performance brought her season total to five goals, tying her with Caitlyn Gratton for the most goals in the Metro Conference.

Niagara mounted a comeback in the second half, beginning with a penalty kick goal by Caitlyn Gratton just 45 seconds after the break. The Purple Eagles eventually secured the win in the 79th minute when Naiya Johnston scored the decisive third goal.
